In medical field, Orthopaedics is the branch of medicine that focuses on injuries and diseases of body's musculoskeletal system. This complex system includes bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves and allows body to move, work, and be active. Orthopaedic treatments help to correct the spinal and bone deformities and make the patient to stand on their own feet. Orthopaedic treatment cares for patients of all ages, from newborns to young adults to older people.

Orthopaedic Treatments can be surgical and non surgical. Many injuries and diseases of body's musculoskeletal system can be treated non-surgically with the help of proper guidance, medications, exercises and other non surgical therapies. On the other hand, when patients not respond to the non-surgical treatments and even in the complex situations surgical way of treatment is opt. There are several types of surgeries which are as follows:
Joint Replacement – It is the procedure related to fixing the damage bone due to arthritis, where the dysfunctional joint surface is replaced with an orthopaedic prosthesis. Replacement surgeries are done through Arthroscopy, which is a procedure in which special cameras and equipment to visualize, diagnose and treat problems inside a joint.
Knee Replacement – The knee replacement is a surgery where the weight-bearing surfaces of the knee joint is fixed to relieve pain and disability. This orthopaedic surgery is performed as a partial or a total knee replacement.
Hip Replacement – It is a treatment where orthopaedic surgery is performed to replace or fix the damage bone due to hip fracture or to provide relieve to the arthritis patients having severe pain. This surgery can be performed as a total replacement or a partial replacement of the damage bone.
Deformity Correction – It refers to the procedure where musculoskeletal deformities are adjusted or modified. Mostly it refers to leg deformity, foot deformity or ankle deformity, etc. but though the deformities can be occur in almost any part of the body, then the orthopaedic surgeries helps to overcome the deformities.
Limb Lengthening – It refers to the orthopaedic surgical method to increase the length of the bones i.e. height.
Bone Infection – It is also referred as osteomyelitis; it is an inflammation of bone marrow and the surrounding bones due to an infection due to bacteria or fungus. It is also treated through surgery.
